How we work
From design to completion: how your kitchen or interior project in Spain takes shape
A kitchen or interior project in Spain involves more than a beautiful design. Clear agreements, reliable follow-up and personal guidance are just as important — especially if you are not permanently based here or are managing the process in another language.
At Azul & Oak, we guide you step by step, from the first conversation and design through to delivery, installation, completion and aftercare. From our showroom in Catral, via video call when needed, and with clear communication in the language you feel most comfortable with.
With regular contact moments and careful follow-up, the process remains clear and organised, so you always know what to expect at each stage.
Below, you can discover how our process works.
Would you like to know what your project could look like in practice?
Book a personal design consultation at our showroom in Catral or start with a video call. Together, we look at your home, your wishes and the steps needed to develop a well-considered design.
Step 1 First conversation and intake
We start with a personal consultation at our showroom in Catral or via video call. We discuss your home, your plans, style preferences and practical requirements, and look at the type of project you have in mind: a kitchen, an interior solution, or a combination of both.
To gain a clear understanding of your project, we also gather the information needed for the design. This may include plans or measurements, photos or videos of the space, inspiration images, preferred materials, practical requirements for storage and appliances, your preferred timing and any technical considerations.
This gives us a clear picture of your expectations from the outset and allows us to determine the best way to develop your project further.
Step 2 3D design and quotation
Based on your wishes, we create a carefully considered 3D design. This gives you a clear view of the layout, materials, colours, volumes and overall atmosphere, so you can see in advance how the kitchen or interior solution will feel within the space.
We review the design together and make adjustments where needed. Once the main choices have been made, we prepare a clear quotation with an overview of the selected materials, appliances, worktops, accessories and installation.
We take the time to explain both the design and the quotation. This way, you know exactly what is included in your project, which choices are still open and what decisions are needed to move on to the next step.
Step 3 Technical check and planning
After approval, we further align the technical details and planning.
We check what is needed for production, delivery and installation. Where relevant, we discuss attention points around measurements, connections, timing and preparation of the space.
Important: Azul & Oak is not a full renovation company.
We do not carry out electrical works, plumbing, tiling or construction works. When such works are needed, they must be correctly prepared before installation.
We are happy to think along with you, but we remain clear about our own area of expertise.
Step 4 Production by the selected supplier
After final approval, your kitchen or interior solution goes into production with the selected supplier.
The production time depends on the type of project, the chosen supplier, materials and planning. For custom kitchens, the average delivery time is usually 8 to 12 weeks after final design and approval, depending on the specific choices and circumstances.
During this phase, we continue to follow up the planning.
Step 5 Delivery and installation
Once the delivery date is confirmed, we carefully coordinate the delivery and installation with you. Our installation team takes care of fitting your kitchen or interior solution, with close attention to alignment, finishing, practical details and a careful final handover.
Proper preparation of the space is essential. That is why we clearly communicate in advance which connections and preparatory works need to be completed before installation can begin.
We aim for a smooth and professional installation, with clear agreements and careful follow-up until the project has been completed in line with the design.
Step 6 Completion and aftercare
After installation, we review the completed project together. We check that everything has been carried out as agreed, that the finishing is correct and whether there are any remaining points requiring attention. Any outstanding items are recorded and followed up. Where relevant, we also explain the operation of appliances and answer any practical questions you may have.
Our support does not end at completion. We remain available afterwards for practical questions and for assistance with any warranty or service enquiries.
For us, aftercare is not a formality, but an integral part of the way we work. Our aim is for you to enjoy your new kitchen or interior solution with confidence and peace of mind.
We remain available after installation
For many international clients, aftercare is just as important as the design itself.
That is why we provide a clear handover and remain approachable after installation. If you have a question, notice a detail that needs follow-up or need something to be checked with the supplier or installer, we guide this in a correct and transparent way.
In the case of technical defects in kitchen appliances, follow-up is handled according to the warranty terms of the manufacturer, supplier or authorised service provider. Azul & Oak does not carry out technical repairs on appliances, but we do help you with the necessary information, documents and contact details to start the service request correctly.
So you know you are not left on your own after installation.
Managing a project when you are not permanently in Spain
Many international clients are not on the Costa Blanca all year round. That is why parts of the process can also be managed remotely.
A showroom visit remains valuable, especially for material choices. But when this is not always possible, we make sure the follow-up remains practical and clear.
What should you bring to a first design consultation?
For a first conversation, not everything needs to be final.
However, the following can help us think along with you more quickly and concretely:
- plans or rough measurements;
- photos of the space;
- inspiration images;
- information about the property;
- desired timing;
- preferences around materials or colours;
- practical wishes around use, appliances and storage;
- an indication of the budget you feel comfortable working within.
Do you not have everything yet? No problem.
We will look together at which information is still needed later.
What is included in our guidance?
Azul & Oak guides the process around kitchens and interior solutions within our own area of expertise.
We guide, among other things:
- design and layout;
- 3D visualisation;
- material and finish choices;
- worktops and appliances for kitchen projects;
- quotation and planning;
- production follow-up;
- delivery and installation;
- handover and aftercare;
- support with warranty and service questions within the agreed terms.
We do not carry out:
- full renovations;
- construction works;
- electrical works;
- plumbing;
- tiling;
- architectural assignments;
- interior architecture assignments;
- technical repairs on kitchen appliances.
This keeps the responsibilities clear and helps everyone know what to expect from the start.
Frequently asked questions about how we work
Does the first design consultation have to take place in the showroom?
No. A first conversation can also take place by video call. For material choices and finishes, we do recommend visiting our showroom in Catral when possible.
Do I always receive a 3D design?
For kitchen projects, we work with a 3D design so you can clearly see the layout, materials and atmosphere before moving forward. For interior solutions, the level of visualisation depends on the type of project and the chosen supplier.
How long does a kitchen project take?
The timing depends on the design, choices, supplier and planning. For custom kitchens, the average delivery time is usually 8 to 12 weeks after final design and approval. Preparation, planning and installation come on top of that.
Can the project continue if I am not permanently in Spain?
Yes. Many of our international clients are not in Spain all year round. We can guide parts of the process through video calls, digital communication and clear updates.
Does my space need to be fully prepared before installation?
Yes. The space must be technically prepared according to the agreed conditions. This includes connections, walls, floors and other preparatory works. Azul & Oak does not carry out these construction or technical works itself.
What happens if something still needs to be followed up after installation?
After handover, we remain available for questions, handover points and possible warranty or service questions within the agreed terms. We look together at what is needed and provide correct follow-up with the supplier or installer where relevant.
What happens if a kitchen appliance has a technical defect after handover?
If a kitchen appliance shows a technical defect after handover, we look together at which warranty or service procedure applies.
Technical interventions on appliances are carried out by the manufacturer, supplier or authorised service provider. Azul & Oak does not repair appliances itself, but we help you with the necessary details, documents and contact direction so the service request can be followed up correctly.
